Funded by Vision+Media, this four-week programme will see 16 people who are new to the industry gain specialist training in TV, Radio, Gaming or Digital Interactive working. The successful applicants will then apply these skills to one of four live industry multi-platform briefs.

Required Skills and Experience:

• B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related technical degree.
• Fluency in one or more of: C, C++, Python.
• Expert in building large, high capacity and scalable systems.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

• A simple threaded message board that will allow logged in users to create topics and reply to topics (all existing plugins appear over-complicated);
• The topic creation should include image uploading, and allow the user to embed snippets from YouTube and Flickr which need to be detected and then stored/displayed within the post.
• All posts to be moderatable by the site admins
• Allow user to co-sign in to Facebook, Twitter and/or LinkedIn
• If signed in, push any topics/posts to the relevant SNS

This is an on-site position in our Leeds office.

• Clean, pragmatic development with PHP 5.
• MySQL and database administration.
• Knowledge of the LAMP stack.
• Experience customising large open-source packages such as Wordpress and Magento.
• Good MVC fundamentals, as you’ll also be working with CakePHP and Zend (Django or Rails is a bonus).
