Description

Think Publishing, one of the top 15 customer publishing houses in the UK is currently searching for a Creative Developer to join its family. We are looking for proactive hard workers with a spark of inspiration who are passionate and ready to integrate with a team of like-minded individuals.

You will have 1-2 years of agency experience.

The key day-to-day tasks include:

  • Development resource for both design led front end and functionality led back end development
  • Manage third party relationships with service providers & freelancers
  • Creation of functional and systems analysis documentation pitched for multiple levels of understanding (business, tech, developer & design)
  • Project cost estimation
  • Image manipulation
  • Production and analysis of web statistics
  • Data architect (database modelling & design)
  • Systems architecture (selection of products/tools/technologies for usage in projects)
  • Technical architecture (selection of hardware and infrastructure for usage in projects)
  • Information architecture (user journeys, use cases, reverse engineering)
  • Analysis of SEO/SEM
  • Keeping up with latest hardware, software, methodology, marketing and internet trends

Required Skills:

  • LAMP based Content Management Systems experience (e.g. Drupal, Joomla, ExpressionEngine, Concrete5, WordPress)
  • PHP (including knowledge of framework e.g. CakePHP, Symfony or Zend)
  • MySQL
  • XHTML and CSS
  • JavaScript (including one of the major frameworks e.g. jQuery, Spry or MooTools)
  • Reporting tools implementation and setup (Google Analytics)
  • Apache server architecture
  • Photoshop/Fireworks

Nice to Have:

  • Windows Server Architecture
  • ASP.NET/C#
  • SQL Server
  • Social media platforms
  • Twitter integration
  • Facebook (applications development)
  • eCommerce experience (Magento, Ubercart, osCommerce)
  • Smart phone platforms
