We urgently require a temporary Web Developer with excellent knowledge of modern mark-up techniques. The successful candidate will be comfortable creating form-heavy, accessible, standards-compliant pages.
£23,000 per annum, 29 days holiday per annum, plus company healthcare.
The position would last 3-6 months.
Job description:
• Development of Prospects.ac.uk and its related websites and projects.
• Hand-coding (X)HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Working with our in-house Content Management System using XSLT and some JSP.
• Building web pages from graphical mock-ups.
• Designing and testing interaction screens both as paper mock-ups and online.
• Basic Photoshop knowledge and optimising graphics for the web.
Person requirements:
You should -
Hold a Web Technologies, Computer Science or New-media related degree (or have significant experience in the field) and have a strong grounding in some or all of the following modern web design techniques:
• Standards-based (X)HTML/CSS.
• Semantic mark-up (that validates).
• Pure CSS layouts (with no HTML tables).
• Accessibility.
• User-interface design/usability.
• Have an understanding of Unobtrusive JavaScript methods.
