Viewing job: Web Developer

On behalf of employer: 29degrees

We're looking for a full-time, permanent developer to join a small team to work on a large web-based system that we develop and support.

The system is split between an internal site which is purely PHP and several external sites which are all Ruby on Rails based. The work is split roughly 85%-15% towards the PHP side. All sites are backed by a PostgreSQL database, and run on Linux servers.

A few years of commercial experience with PHP is required, but as long as you are proficient with any RDBMS then experience with PostgreSQL isn't strictly necessary.

Similarly, if you've not got experience with Ruby or Rails, then not to worry - We would hope that the right developer is more than good enough to be able to quickly pick up Ruby and Rails.

A big bonus would be experience with working on large, critical systems, system administration of Linux systems, enjoying working in a relaxed atmosphere with free coffee, and liking the music we play in the office : http://www.last.fm/user/29degrees.

Salary is dependent on your experience, and the position is to be filled as soon as possible.

You can read a bit more about 29degrees and the kind of work we do at http://29degrees.co.uk, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Interested? Send us your CV (Preferably in PDF format) and salary expectations to carl@29degrees.co.uk and we'll be in touch!

And, if you're a recruitment agency, don't bother contacting us - We'll just ignore you.
