You must be able to pick up and learn new APIs rapidly, keeping at a usable distance behind the bleeding edge to focus on Getting Things Done.
Your primary role will be to grow from a junior developer, to a senior developer - eventually taking the lead on internal projects, and perhaps more.
You must have a reasonable background in J2EE development, preferably understanding Hibernate & JPA / Spring / WebWork & Struts2 / JSP & Velocity / Lucene.
Concepts such as Domain Driven Design, Test Driven Design, Unit Testing, Continuous Integration, Subversion/Source Control, Agile Development, Extreme Programming should all be familiar to you - which should make you opinionated about their use and their positive + negative consequences.
You must be head-strong and willing to lead from the front, comfortable being part of a team but able to work with autonomy.
