A fantastic opportunity has just arisen for a Web developer to join one of the UK's newest entrepreneurial e-commerce enterprises working in their Cheshire offices, close to the mainline station to Manchester and the motorway network, delivering in-house web-based projects.
Working closely with a highly creative design team in this busy and exciting web based environment you will be responsible for the RAD-style development and delivery of the websites. You will work and co-manage development at all levels of the applications from UI through business and data layers.
The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm for web development and open source software. Ideally you will have some experience of Ruby on Rails, but all candidates with strong object oriented programming skills will be considered (in languages such as PHP, Perl, Python). You must also be comfortable working on a Unix (linux and/or Mac OS) platform, and use of source control software such as Subversion, CVS or git.
This is an excellent opportunity for a bright developer to fulfill their creative flair for new ideas and concepts and see it develop the business. You will be seeing projects through the entire life cycle. All the projects are in-house, so there are no customers to placate, no timesheets to keep, and no suits to wear!
