Working in a busy and exciting environment in Clerkenwell, EC1, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and delivery of the PlayJam vision, with opportunity to grow and lead a development resource for the world’s leading interactive TV channel.

Job Title: Web Developer

Role & Responsibilities:
PlayJam is looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful web developer & site manager to be a crucial member of the new Online team. Responsibilities include:
• Managing & maintaining site front & back-end in a technical operations capacity
• Contributing to the online technology strategies
• Service and Application delivery
• Liaising with 3rd party suppliers
• Integrating with 3rd-party systems
• Developing service features and functions

Experience & Skills Required:
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a multi-tasking site or service development environment
• BSc University degree in Computer Science or equivalent: 2:1 or higher
• Strong HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and Flash/Actionscript development
• Experience developing mobile sites and services an advantage
• Database integration experience – Oracle or similar RDBMS, SQL, data-object models
• Experience using XML, AJAX and Web 2.0 APIs
• Some familiarity with Linux/Unix platforms
• Knowledge of Open source frameworks and packages such as Apache Web Server
• Experience in server management
• Understanding of the mechanics of SEO and SEM
• LOVE and understand casual games, Social Networks and Widgets
• ...all (preferably) gained from creating and developing sites and online applications in the Entertainment or Games sector.
